Rules

There will be adult situations in this game including but not limited to the following; murder, rape, drugs, beatings, kidnapping, etc. As such, you must be at least 17 years or older to apply for this game.

Do not god-mod, we all know this it shouldn't even be needed here. But there is always someone who will say 'but it wasn't in the rules' so here it is. This includes IC/OOC crossing.

Drama. IC drama is needed and encouraged for this type of game. Killing off random NPCs is a great way to stir drama. While we encourage drama that is graphic in nature we do not want ANY sort of drama amongst the writers. That being said, if you want to kill off your own character, feel free. Drop the mods a note, get approval and find someone to kill your character. Please keep in mind that IC character hate is not the same as OOC writer hate. IC hate we encourage, OOC hate we will not stand for. Three strikes rule and it stands strong

Holds on PBs and Premades last 72 hours. Challenges are allowed on Premades. Keep in mind if you want to use the same face the other hold is using we will allow that challenge. But you cannot challenge a PB if you are not challenging the same character as well.

The maximum number of characters you are allowed to play are three. Keep in mind if you play the Boss of the Italian playing one of his immediate employees or children is a bad idea. You won't get the kind of play and interaction you could with another writer. Try to keep your characters in other families or very distant in the same family. IF you can show us that you are active in the comm for a month with your three characters (no constant reminders to update) you can have up to five. Please ask first.

Character updates should be twice a month. We would prefer every two weeks. Please keep in mind, most Mafia people will not keep an online journal so all your journal updates will most likely be private, thus no interaction. Try to update with random threads as well, and put as much public as you realistically can. Keep in mind, when we put up a list and date to be updated by, if you do not have an update by that date you will be removed. You are welcome to reapply with a current update.

Threading/Logging is important for OOC and IC knowledge in this comm. While we do not want nor expect every single interaction to be logged and posted we do ask that anything major, important, or anything else you feel like sharing be posted. This means, that if your character and their significant other are having a romantic night alone, we do not need to see it. If you'd like to share, feel free! But if your character is getting kidnapped, commiting a crime, or any IC plotting between characters where they meet and discuss. KEEP IN MIND That just because it is posted does NOT mean your character has knowledge. If it's something that occurs in a public forum, they could have vague knowledge (everyone can easedrop) but things that take place in a basement, home, etc are OOC knowledge only.

As this community is centered around three crime families, they will know of each other. Consider anything said in threads that take place in a public setting; park, cafe, bookstore, etc to be open knowledge for others. No they won't knwo the full conversation but they could have seen the group who was talking. Might have heard tidbits of the conversation.

Please notify mods before all serious and offensive storylines. While we will 99.9% of the time approve them, we do not want three characters being kidnapped at the sametime. This applies to things such as; rape, kidnapping, etc. If you'd like your character to attempt suicide, be a drug addict, alcoholic, etc that is your choice. Please do your research and be realistic. If you are completely unrealistic we will let you know. It is offensive to have such tender subjects played incorrectly.

Please apply with you character's journal. Please do not request memebership until you have been accepted. Please, have an AIM screen name. We prefer IC AIM screennames, if you are just simply against it, please talk to the mods. We can always work something out.

Journals are like online blogs. People will read them and comment them. Make private what you wish only specific people to read or no one to. Everything written behind a private, is OOC knowledge, not IC unless it's allowing specific people to read, then they would know.

Please have an OOC/IC contact post up in your characters journal, along with their biography (which is given to you in the application page) this is for other writer's knowledge.

Hiatus is always understandable. Real life happends, but please find away to contact the mods. Libraries, cell phones, a lot of places and things have internet access. Just a simple note, telling us what's wrong and for how long. If you do not give a specific time, you are given two weeks. Then your character is up for removal if you are due to update. Remember Hiatus means, no play. Semi hiatus is allowed as well. Please just communicate.
